Rob has written and performed for many charities over the years and wishes to continue with this work while he is in Scotland. He has worked with various social, political (including anti-racist groups) and environmental groups while in West Sussex and Somerset and has written songs and performed them at various concerts over the years. This involvement with charities goes back to the 1970s and includes involvement in fundraising during the great miner's strike of 1984 - when many of his immediate family were miners at Penallta colliery near Ystrad Mynach. He is particularly interested in any local fundraising for local people - though he is more able to contribute his time rather than his money. He can be called upon to write a song for any occasion in support of any cause he feels is worthwhile. Rob may ask for a small amount of money for travelling expenses for charity performances - depending on how far he has to travel.
